The APPA (Association of Philippine Physicians in America) was founded in 1972 with 3,000 members and a staff of three, APPA is composed of several committees: Awards; Continuing Medical Education; Foreign Medical Graduates; Medico-Legal Aid; Philippine Medical Aid Program; Political Action; Public Relations; Unification. Individuals from the Philippines who are licensed to practice medicine in the US . Seeks to: render free medical care to indigent persons; establish a continuing medical education program for physicians; provide aid for education of physicians; support medical research. Sends medical missions to the Philippines . Provides medical residency program placement service. Maintains speakers' bureau; compiles statistics.
